ive started getting this.the other day i went out to the car and it wouldnt start.from experience of when i was fitting heated seats i knew it was the lower plug in the passenger foot well i checked it and the car started.well today went out in car and before i set of the malfunction alarm sounded with pics on dash.keep restarting and it went ok got to tescos and it started up again.any way
Have had the engine light come on and engine malfunction message displayed on my Ford Focus 1.6 TDCI. The car restricted itself to 40 MPH. Have taken it to Hendy and they have told me that fluids need to be topped up and also that the diesel particulate filter will need to be replaced.

Possible causes : An electrical fault in the Turbocharger control circuit. MAP sensor electrical failure. Inspect connectors for signs of damage, water ingress, corrosion, etc. If the code is set at idle renew the turbocharger. Recently bought myself a MK3 Focus 1.6 TDCI.. The car has been driving fine but a engine light did appear with code P2033 which is reading as a exhaust gas sensor. The car still drive fine with this light on but today the car when into limp mode with 'engine malfunction' displayed o the car. Plugged it in and its reading code P1261 -Cylinder #1
